The Four Tops Will Be Playing The Tropicana

The The Four Tops’ first Motown hit, “Baby I Need Your Loving” in 1964, made them stars. Their songs, soulful and bittersweet, were across-the-board successes. “I Can’t Help Myself (Sugar Pie, Honey Bunch),” a number 1 R&B and Pop smash in 1965, is one of Motown’s longest-running chart toppers. It was quickly followed by a longtime favorite, “It’s The Same Old Song,” which reached number 2 on the R&B charts and number 5 on the Pop charts.

People. If you remember nothing else that I have ever written? Please remember this.

Now please hear me out and don't just label me as sexist.

I often feel bad for ladies that I speak with because they tend to be at one extreme or the other when it comes to allowing love in their life.

On one extreme they have allowed people that I would call men in name only to rule over their hearts and their lives.

However, the other extreme seems to me, that some women only willing to accept being loved if that love comes in the perfect car, wearing the right suit, with the more experience than a little but not so much experience as to be too much, and .....he has to arrive on a Thursday after 3pm but before 9pm.

Now of course I am exaggerating but am I?

I am sure there are men and honestly I could be one of them that have made their "standards" into an easy out policy to keep from getting close to people.

I am sure that there are women and men right now who would rather walk the rest of the way then share a sweet intimate moment or kiss with someone they care about on a bus trip.

I am by no means saying run off and jump the broom with the next person that smiles at you.

What I am saying is.....

A) ALLOW FOR LOVE....

LET THAT PERSON THAT YOU HAVE BEEN KEEPING WALLED OUT OF YOUR WORLD TO HOLD YOUR HAND. TAKE A CHANCE AND KISS THAT GUY THAT DOESN'T MAKE YOU FEEL LIKE THE WOMAN IN GHOST AT THE POTTERY WHEEL. OPEN YOUR MIND AND YOUR HEART TO THE IDEA THAT YOUR LOVE LIFE CAN BE BIGGER AND BETTER THAN THE MOVIES.

WARNING:  IF YOU ARE TAKING A CHANCE? BE WOMAN/MAN ENOUGH TO LET THAT PERSON KNOW. THIS IS SOMETHING WE ARE TRYING, BUT IT IS NOT MY INTENTION TO LEAD YOU ON.

B. DO NOT WAIT FOR LOVE...

BY THE TIME YOU FINISH SCHOOL. YOUR BOOK. GET BACK IN SHAPE.

LIFE WILL CONTINUE TO MOVE ON AND SO WILL THE OBJECT OF YOUR AFFECTION.

C. NEVER MIND WHO IS LOOKING....

IF YOU ARE MOVED TO STEAL A KISS IN A MOVIE THEATER, ON A DANCE FLOOR, OR AT A WEDDING....GO THERE. IF IT GETS TOO HOT? YEAH GET A ROOM. BUT NO ONE EVER DIED OF DISGUST FROM PUBLIC DISPLAYS OF AFFECTION...AND MOST OF THE PEOPLE DISGUSTED...AIN'T GETTING ANY (EITHER IN PUBLIC OR BEHIND CLOSED DOORS.)
